History sheeter Bomb Saravanan caught by Chennai police after a shootout

Bomb Saravanan was shot in the leg and caught by the Pulianthope police.

‘Bomb’ Saravanan, a wanted A+ category history sheeter who reportedly has 33 cases pending against him, was shot in the leg and caught by the Greater Chennai Police (GCP). The police claim that they shot him as he attacked the police and attempted to flee on Wednesday, January 15. 

Saravanan was apprehended in MKB Nagar in Chennai on Wednesday night. This is when he allegedly attacked the police and tried to flee the scene.

According to reports, Saravanan hurled a country bomb at the Pulianthope police after he tried to attack inspector Ambedkar with a sickle. The bomb however did not explode. Sub Inspector Mani sustained injuries, reports said. Inspector Ambedkar reportedly shot Saravanan in his leg after warning him. 

Saravanan has been admitted to Stanley Medical College hospital where he is undergoing treatment. 

Saravanan has been implicated in seven murder cases, including the murder of history Arcot Suresh, allegedly murdered Saravanan’s brother Thennarasu who served as the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) Thiruvallur District Secretary. He reportedly has 33 pending cases against him.
